Minolta Manual Lenses

Minolta collaborated with Leica in the 1970s and 1980s, producing lenses that were rebadged as Leica R lenses. This partnership led to the creation of high-quality lenses that combined Minolta’s manufacturing capabilities with Leica’s optical designs.

Some Minolta lenses, like the MC Rokkor-PF 58mm f/1.4, included thorium oxide in their glass elements. This gave the lenses superior optical properties but also made them slightly radioactive. Over time, these lenses may develop a yellowish tint due to the decay of thorium.
